Our Story

Same roots. A name that fits who we have become.

It began with a question every teacher was about to face: when artificial intelligence walks into our classrooms, who will help teachers make sense of it?

In 2023, AI arrived in schools faster than anyone had prepared teachers for it. So we started small and practical. We built tools a teacher could use the next morning: custom AI assistants, built on OpenAI’s GPT platform and later listed in its GPT Store, that help educators plan lessons and design assessments. We began presenting to educators who wanted to bring AI into their curriculum without giving up their professional judgment. And we wrote about how to do it responsibly, in books that include Education Before AI: Laying the Foundations for Responsible Artificial Intelligence Integration in Schools.

That is where the name iTeachAI came from. It described exactly what we were doing.

Then teachers told us what else they needed

They needed courses to support renewing their licenses. They needed learning that respects their time and is built around their state’s requirements. They needed someone to explain not just how to use one AI tool, but how the different kinds of artificial intelligence actually work, so that what they learn still makes sense when the tools change.

So we kept building. Today we design AI components that live inside learning platforms and websites, including the study assistant built into every one of our courses. We teach educators how artificial intelligence works, not only how to click through it. We offer courses aligned to requirements in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, where courses are available in Spanish. And we opened our Global Academy to teachers in more than 30 countries, where every teacher’s first course is free. Here at home, our library of AI courses for K-12 educators is free with a free account.

A name that fit a small team building AI tools no longer describes an academy that serves teachers around the world, in everything from literacy to special education to school leadership.

Certificates you have earned keep their original verification codes, and we will keep them verifiable online. We will carry your account, your progress, and your purchases over, and we will let you know if anything changes.

For schools and districts, your agreements, purchase orders, and vendor records continue with the same company as it moves to its new name.

A note from our founder

We started by helping teachers make sense of a new tool. We are still doing that. Along the way, we learned how much more teachers deserve: learning worth their time, coaching that respects them, and a place in the future of education that puts them at the center.

Our name is changing. Our roots are not.
